Here's the end of chapter 2...and there's still an update before this...

I could feel the darkness slowly eating away at me. It seemed to nag on my very being until it could reap its reward. My heart would slowly slip away into the darkness and I would be just a vessel again.

“Stop it!” I ordered as I walked. The buildings around me became hazy and were illuminated by something.

I took a ragged breath and continued walking--still feeling the sensation that
I was slipping away again. I was surprised I had lasted as long as I did. I felt the familiar gripping of my heart and I tensed up, just in time when my vision went completely black. The last thing I had complete control over was the last step I took as I made my way into the woods yet again.

This time, however, my vision didn’t stay black. I slowly opened my eyes again and saw I was still walking into the woods. The difference was, my eyes were lost in a haze and as I looked down at myself, I found I was in all black--covered from head to toe. I had become the creature in my dream--the one that had chased me.

I began to run deeper into the forest in search of a lake, or pond. Anything that could give off a reflection. I had to see my face. The sounds of the air rushing by me drowned out any other sound until I finally came to a stop next to a small lake. I dropped to my knees at the bank and stared into the water.

Harsh yellow eyes stared back at me. A dark face with an evil grin. It had the same features as me--hair, nose, mouth--but it still didn’t look like my own.

“What have I become?” I asked myself as I touched the side of my face.

A devious voice came from within me and answered my question. “You’ve become Darkness...”

End of Chapter Two...
