I am currently working on this story... This is really only a summary of what I am working on, though I am really finding it hard to figure out a name for it which really isn't normally a problem for me... I have come up with "When Death Looms Overhead" but I think that it is kind of weak and I would welcome any suggestions that anyone might have....

Summary

Numbers of the death totals flash over the screen. The dead are mounting 1,000 people died today, over 75,000 people in the United States are thought to carry the disease. The death toll has risen to a little over a million people. There is still no cure, and from the news there has been no progress in finding a cure.
School is closed till further notice. It’s Sunday morning and the church bells aren’t ringing. Looking out the window nothing is moving. No children are outside playing. It has been days since a car has come down the road. Everyone is afraid. This plague attacks everyone. No one is safe.
Inside of this four room house, devastation strikes the Malone family. Mom and dad fall sick. While fourteen year old Esther watches her parents suffer, through the keyhole. Finally her parents decide to distance themselves from the children, but they become so sick that Esther has no choice then to take care of her parents. Her parents are terribly afraid that Esther has gotten the sickness, but she hasn’t. She is strangely immune to this disease. Her parents die little by little, her father first and then her mother. No one comes for the bodies, Esther risks it and hoes outside into her woods and buries the bodies. There is nowhere to go, there are no foster homes open now. No one will take a two children who have been close to the disease any ways. They could be carrying it. No one will come to there aid. She is left with her younger sister Erica, who is only four. Though very young Erica is wise beyond her years. Together they struggle to survive. Then tragedy strikes again, Erica falls sick. The little girl is strong but the strength is being polled from her little body. She remains cheerful, will she make it? The only comfort she has is the little bible that her parents gave her for her 3rd birthday. She believes in God, but can her faith survive the desperation. Esther is torn apart as she watches Erica wither before her eyes. Erica begs Esther to read the bible to her and Esther reads for hours. Will they find the cure to this plague before Erica dies? The answer maybe in Esther’s own blood.

sounds great! umm a name... what about "Missing Cure" or... what is the actual disease... what happens to the people before they die... make the title from the symtoms or something like that... just suggestions. but sounds great! are you going to post the acvtual story?

Thanks for your suggestion... It does sound like a really good idea. Honestly I haven't found an actual disease that I have decided to name it so far through out the book I have referred to it as the purple plague.

I'm planning on posting the story when I'm finished... but the story really has a long way to go.

oh. um so you dont even know what it does, like how it kills people, or how they catch it maybe? like maybe you could call it "contact" if thats how they catch it... no thats a crap name, but if you get what i mean?!

(once again thanks for your insight) I think that i get what you mean...

I know what the disease does, what i ment was that I have not created any medical term for the disease... It robs the blood of oxygen in a very slow in grueling process which causes the person to take on a purple tint to their skin which leads to their death. The symtoms include coughing and extreme exaustion over very small excursions. The sickness is airborne, and I have thought of titles that could perhaps be along the lines of that, yet I haven't found a title that I am satisfied in yet at all.
