Chapter One
The young teenager raced through the jungle, the eerie music getting louder as she got closer and closer. Trees brushed past her face as she ran and vines crept over the overly grassy floor, threatening to trip her over. The moon glowed blood red in the sea of blackness above, the ground pulsed to the beat of the music.
She stopped suddenly, the edge of the cliff at her feet. She stood in darkness and starred down at the horrific sights below, a shiver running down her back despite the heat of the night. Deformed figures danced around camp fires and large stones with people tied to the surface. Some figures draped in long cloaks made from woven vines and leaves, stooped over the people tied to the stones, performing violent acts on the young innocent men, women and children.
The girl couldn’t stand and look anymore and in one swift movement she bent over, pulled a dagger from her grass skirt and aimed it at the tallest cloaked figure’s head. Just as she was about to throw the dagger a cold hand clasped her arm firmly, and she spun to see her twin standing behind her.
“Let go!” she whispered loudly. His eyes glowed red, reflecting the moon, and his lips pulled back to show sharp teeth.
“Not yet, we don’t have the numbers!” he said.
“We can’t let them keep doing this, its not right!” she yanked her arm away from him and thrust her dagger back in her skirt.
“I know,” he whispered, and glanced down at the show below, “we will be slaughtered, there is too many of them and too less of us. But we will be ready soon…”
“How soon?! I can’t take this much longer, they are killing innocent people, and we are the ones to blame!” she gave him a hard shove to make him look at her again.
He looked up and she was shocked by the tears of blood running from his evil eyes and down his rosy red cheeks. A single tear fell from his cheeks onto the floor below, creating a small patch of dead grass.
“I can fix it.” he said simply, so soft that she could barely hear him.
She blinked in confusion and suddenly he was gone, as though he had never been there to begin with.
Another shiver ran down her back, and she took one more glance at the vile creatures below before turning back towards the jungle and disappearing after her twin.
Down below a tall cloaked figure stopped what he was doing and looked up to the top of the cliff. He pushed back his headdress to reveal an ugly face, torn and disfigured, and a wicked smile spread over his pealing lips. He had not seen the teenagers, but he knew they had been there.
Throwing back his head he let out an ear piercing roar of laughter that made the trees in the jungle tremble right down to their roots. The other creatures stood as well, opening their mouths to join their master and the laughter, mixing in with the eerie music, grew louder and louder.
There was a deafening crack of thunder, as the sky above ruptured and crimson drops of blood fell like rain to the ground.
The creatures danced on.
its just the start, remember, there is more. well thanks for reading!
