Talking Main Character in Green Power

The main characters in the action filled thriller novel, Green Power, are Ray and Dirk. The following brief descriptions were given on twitter. See if you can tell who might be the protagonist and antagonist.

Ray: The delta breezes tousled Ray’s long brown hair and full beard into a wild mess giving him the appearance of a Viking leading a raiding party.

Dirk: The towering blond headed six-foot-five figure of Dirk Hendrickson unsnapped his long heavy baton and held it high with his right muscular arm.

I noticed a few of you have visited my website and haven't maneuvered around too much. Maybe your having trouble with the menu. Therefore, I might mention that on 10/28/08, I posted "Main Character from Green Power" on this forum, which will give you the answer as to who is the good guy and who is the bad guy.
