Thread: Google to offer agnostic e-books

Google is to sell e-books that could be read on any internet connected device. Editions online digital bookshop will launch in July with in-print works with the permission of publishers owning copyright.
Editions will be 'device agnostic' with books available to any device with a web browser; smart phones, ipads, Kindle.
Editions is separate from the Book Search project to make all the world's written books,including out of print, available online. This is still subject to litigation over the US authors and publishers agrement.
