Potential President's Pastors
So, another Obama pastor went on a rant, and I'm sure it's all Fox News will air for the next month. Do you guys think we're getting close to a time where a U.S. Presidential candidate can just admit that they don't have a fucking religious devotion? I mean, this shit is getting out of hand. This is the third pastor that has had an important negative effect on the candidates' campaigns. And I guarantee you, none of the three candidates still racing have religious beliefs outside of political convenience.

President Obama is being very patient while they get on with this election malarchy. Timewasting until he's inaugurated properly.
No-one cares about his religious beliefs - he will be the President, if he gets the nomination, and depending if you watch BBC or ITV, he's either in front my miles or trailing by miles. I'd go with the former.
The President is dead, long life the President!

Well, of course, he will get the nomination. I don't know about the national vote. I really really really hope he does, but things aren't as optimistic as they look from over there. I mean, I do live in a pretty big red state but, I don't know, it's like people have been dramatically deciding on supporting McCain over the last month around here.

Nothing like having your spiritual leader knife you in the back on international news.
Really unbelievable.
There probably ought to be a church just for politicians. Big, photogenic building, multi-everything congregation out of central casting, several ministers who look great on TV, are good pitchmen, and have signed bonded agreements saying they will not ever dis their flock.
Actually Billy Graham was like that. He collected Presidential followers like some people collect decorative plates.

I'm trying to figure out why some religious guys views would have any impact on someones presidential campaign. It just doesn't make sense, it's not as if this pastor is running for president.

Nobody cares except newpeople and the opposing party's flakmeisters.
If they can connect their opponent to a nazi pedophile shoeshine guy who buffed his boots 15 years ago they'll try to make hay out of it.

It is silly. The thing is, Obama associated with someone who was potentially controversial, because at one point, it was politically expedient. And then it came back to bite him in the ass. It's not really an issue with anyone else.

I dunnno... you think he started going to that church 20 years ago (when he must have ben about 9 months old) for political reasons?
People who go to church pretty much get it handed to them generally. They usually don't pick and choose on issues like that.
Hell you should see some of the pyscho Baptist ministers I got dragged to when I was a kid.
My favorite was the one in El Paso who was a fast draw artist. Went to competitions where they used light beams and superclocks.
Then he was practicing his fast draw with a loaded gun and it went off, shot through the mirror he was trying to outdraw and hit his 2 year old kid in the next room, damn near bloiwng his leg off. The kid was named Wyatt Earp Yancey, by the way.
So if I run for president (how's that for a phrase to make your blood run cold?) will I get held responsible for whatever lunacy this guy is spouting now?

Barak went to the city and joined that church to get "street cred" in order to further his ambitions. (he was really ambitious at Columbia). He'd stop at nothing to grow in the Democratic circles of that area. Hence his friendship with a couple of terrorists. He got elected on that party base because he plowed the proper left wing, anti-white person field. Now it's coming back to haunt him. To quote his pastor "Your chickens . . . have come home to roost."
No matter how much I detest John McCain - he's going to become president. And to the mendacious republican party who discovered earmarks as a way to maintain power, I'll tell them to listen to this "Your chickens . . . have come home to roost."
In the meantime, this country is going National Socialist. With either candidate.
And I'll keep hoping for the resurrection of Ronald Reagan.

That's pretty much it. I am guessing here -- but I bet the good Rev. got sore at Obama when it was clear that Obama was going to distance himself, and that's why the guy won't shut his pie hole.

Easy lin, you'll use up all your question marks. I thought the association was more recent.

I really hope McCain doesn't get in. He smells like another Nixon to me.
