Canadian freelance writers are getting screwed.
The new Canwest contract requires freelance writers to sign over all moral rights to their work. Canadian writers cannot submit their work anywhere else once published under Canwest. Canwest owns a large amount of newspapers and I believe a fair number of magazines, so if you wish to make money as a freelance writer in Canada, you're going to have to publish with Canwest at some point.
