Is America the rudest country?
I have found lately on internet forums (not just this one) that i am getting quite a lot of insults thrown at me from americans. i dont like to generalise but because of the frequency of the insults i have decided to start this debate to see what everyone else thinks.
the rudeness often seems to be just to insult and hurt which to me does not constitute good debating. surely there are better ways to get a point accross rather than calling someone a name?

It doesn't matter what country it is, people are sometimes rude.

Probably because most people on forums are Americans (more internet users than any other country, you know), and people in general are dipshits.

Or maybe you just make yourself out to be a target of insults by acting like such a dunce.

I wouldn't say this question could be answered until one spends time living in every single country in the world.

By which cultural definition of "rude"? After all, what's considered rude varies.

rudeness is throwing insults at people just because you dont nessaserely agree with their opinion.
for example: kane cannot ever produce a productive argument without resorting to insulting the other person. it seems that a lot of the americans on the internet cannot let anybody speak their opinion freely.

i have and at first i thought it was the teens doing it but i now hold the view that the majority of rudeness comes from americans in their late twenties/early thirites.
i wonder if the people who throw insults around so freely were bullied at school (i may be wrong about it being just americans). it would suggest why they get their kicks from insulting strangers over the internet. i suppose it would make you feel better to insult a name on a screen if you had recieved insults off people around you at school or at work.

I don't find Americans to be any more or less rude than any others. Some are rude, some are not. Some are extremely polite. I think internet forums in general provide an opportunity for those who tend towards rudeness to express themselves rudely. I've done it myself. Unless you can provide any evidence for a link with bullying at school I'd say there's no connection.
Cheers,
Omni

i didnt say i was certain there was a link to bullying.
its just the people i know in real life who are rude for not much reason have all been majorly bullied at either school or work and seem to take it out on those that havent. it seems that it gives them pleasure to insult people when it isnt needed.
the people on here and other forums will know if theyve been bullied or not (i cant prove either way) but i reckon they have been because behaviour generaly breeds behaviour and to insult someone for no reason or just to make your argument stick is the method of a bully.

I've been rude in this forum before (and others) but I wasn't bullied at school or at work.

why be rude then if its not needed?
theres no justification for it. being rude to someone for no reason is just being a cunt imo.
