2nd'd.I pretty much doubt that there's a benevolent Spock out there.
The will to be stupid is an overwhelming force; how can anyone expect an alien society to be any better organised than ours?
The Dark Art Of Posting. A useful thread!

I have a wooden spoon and I'm not afraid to use it.
I think someone much wiser than me admonished to "Expect the unexpected".
Every time I hear that "That's silly! WE wouldn't do it that way, so why would THEY?"; I cringe. WE can't predict what some aliens may or may not do when they encounter us. But dismissing an entire set of actions or reactions based on our limited experiences is arrogance.
Alien visitors may be super nice, or mega evil, or generally messed up (like us).
Just as long as they're not offering "To Serve Man".

I'd kill for a blueberry scroll, or maim for a apple one. Alas...
Double entendre:
To Serve Man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Many ways to serve. Someone should write a (cook)book.
And the people in that story should have read Robert Heinlien:

lol, double meaning
Well they might well do that, although even lions and tigers can't (generally) be bothered.
