Eventually the rioting calmed down.
The Government amassed the forces of law and order.
The rioters were hunted down and where possible prosecuted and criminalised - if not already know to the police.
A few of the vandals managed to take home some baubles as payment for their nights of rioting.
Many demonstrators were caught with the help of the all seeing CCTV footage.

But even high ranking officials have commented publicly that the sentences given out were out of proportion to the crime committed.

But I do not have the answers to the fundamental issues that were raised by these events.
And sadly, I fear that neither does Government.
We shall see.
