Is hunting morally acceptable in modern society?

My sincerest apologies to all who have participated in this debate. My superpowers got away from me and I accidentally deleted the whole topic. This was the last post from the debate.

Again, my apologies to all concerned.

I wouldn't sweat it, Gumby. It's probably just as well.

Excellent! Gumby's response may have been the smartest one in the whole debate!

That's okay. Now we can start all over. Yes, hunting is morally acceptable in modern society.

I think hunting is moral if the animal is killed for a good reason, namely for eating, although putting its body to other uses such as clothing, when there aren't artifical alternatives, I'd also call moral.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

Guns for the deer, sneakers for the hunters. And spread peanut butter from coast to coast.

You know, I think this should be a theme for every debate on here. At some point, someone comes in and deletes everything and everyone must start over, but arguing from the opposite side.

Either that or Thunderdome. Whichever is cool with me.

That might work if everyone was fickle in their beliefs.

    Yes.

    Well, I'd be toast.

As far as hunting being morally acceptable in modern society, I agree with Foxee. By the way and since I have no pre-modern abilities or knowledge. If something does happen, Foxee, expect to find me on your doorstep.

No problem, Hawke, you're always welcome. If I keep learning the things that I'm learning there will be light, heat, food, and some measure of security. If things go down bad, well...you'll have to seek us out because we'll be hoofing it through the woods to an undisclosed location.
