Just thought of starting a debate on British politics.
Some Liberal Democrat supporters seem to be upset at the coalition between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives. The issue being that they (the Liberal Democrats) have betrayed their voters by joining a party with an opposing agenda.
There has already been cuts in public services which may probably create problems such as unemployment, crime and poverty.
Quite a few people in Britain rely on the welfare state for services such as health care and housing.
Reducing the funding towards the welfare state could possibly create more independence for people in Britain relying and paying into a system that is currently flawed and open to abuse.
The other take on this is the issue that so many people rely on the system at present that the changes now taking place due to cutbacks leave the less fortunate and vulnerable (this could be down to certain health issues or perhaps lack of education) in a situation where they may struggle to support themselves.
Would be interesting to hear opinions on this.
