No. He would too closely resemble a Christmas ham.
Do not think it a kindness.
As long as he is still colorful it doesn't matter to me![]()

I am told that before the 1930's Santa wore a green suit, but Coca-cola put him in their corporate colours when they used him in an advertising campaign, so who would be using him in pink? Breast cancer Santa? Gay lib Santa?

I wondered Joseph, it had the flavour of an urban myth, that was why I preceded the remark with "I am told". Thanks for clarifying.

Santa as we know him didn't exist before Coca-Cola. So there's no actual reason to change anything about a fictional character made to fantasize a commercial holiday.
Wow. Joyless and humorless. Do I need to schedule a ghostly visitation?

wouldn't you then have to change his sleigh colour?
Yes -- it think it would clash otherwise.
In regard to the OP, I'd always heard green was the most soothing and calming color -- and that they used to paint the walls of mental institutions green for that reason. (Note the main color used on the forum.)

I think i'd go with green too. Around christmas a bit of green is great to see, and well, a big Pink sleigh on my roof would look like one of those caddies from Mary Kay.![]()
no offense to those in the business. I just don't like the look, reminds me of a giant tongue laid out on the road![]()
The story goes that when the U.S. Army Air Corps was being transformed into the U.S. Air Force a p.r. firm was hired to research the best colour for uniforms, vehicles, and such. It had to be some shade of blue, off we go and all that, but which? According to polls supposedly conducted by the firm, a shade of dark blue engendered the greatest trust among the public. Thus USAF vehicles and dress uniforms are dark blue.
Santa should wear dark blue complete with a winged pin to signify he is licenced for airborne reindeer-powered sleigh. The sleigh itself should be polished metal with a dark blue diagonal stripe, the inscription 'North Pole Air Service' along the side, and the registration number SC-01.
