    I don't agree with this. For a start, a brain doesn't need someone independent to operate it as a computer ultimately does.

    Well, I think most of the analogies you see around here are pretty useless -- this one's a good example. There really isn't anything analogous to the human brain and I don't see any value in forcing some comparison if it doesn't clarify anything. And usually, the argument shifts off-topic and becomes about whether or not the analogy is a valid one. Case in point.
