What’s to be done about Iran?

My suggestion is that the US uses its clout to make the entire Middle East a nuclear-free zone. This would include Israel.

I'm aware of that. However that isn't what we were told while the women and children were getting bombed.

I reckon we should send you out with your steel hat, Ox. Put the fear of God in 'em.

There are always innocent death's in war, Baron...just read the Old Testament...God instructed His warriors to kill every man, woman and child...even the animals were not spared in some instances...nor a bush for that matter...that way there would be no threat from that particular enemy again...complete annihilation seems brutal today but is it better to annihilate the opposition rather than simply defeat it?

garza - Why do you always hyphenate US when you use it as an acronym for Yewnited States? Is that your way of showing they're not really united?

And the people of Iran are asking "What's to be done about these Westerners".
I am with Baron here, civilian populations do not need to be exposed to "shock and awe" techniques. There were small children living in Baghdad whose whole life will be affected by that experience even if they were physically untouched. Let's be clear about the difference between those who threaten and those who are a threat, and how much of a threat they really are, remember those pictures of the road from Kuwait, we had them beat anyway, but wanted to use up the old ammo ready for the new generation and demonstrate just what could be done, a bit like Hiroshima and Nagasaki or any one of a good few incidents since. Carrying a big stick is all very well, but you are supposed to walk softly too.
