Makes you wonder how Teddy Roosevelt would have handled all this...

I dunno what America should do. I don't know if the country of Iran is the threat, or just some of the people living there. I don't think an excessive display of force is the way to go though, definitely.
The Beginning isn't the hardest part. Nor is the Ending the hardest part. The Hardest Part is everything in between.

If you have a neighbor you do not like and they do not like you but they have a shotgun how secure would you feel? And if that neighbor in the past has attacked others without warning or provocations, how badly would you want to have a shotgun too?

A lot of what Iran does in nothing more then puffing out their chest and making hollow threats.
How else would you describe threats against that neighbor with the shotgun?

Iran talking tough toward Israel is that way, while Israel is the only country in the middle east with nuclear weapons who is going to attack them? Israel has already attacked Iran before as well as Iraq.
They are one of the toughest kids on that block even without their shotgun.
But the threat is amplified with a WMD in their arsenal.

It’s an interesting insight into the human mind that people can argue incessantly over evangelical proselytising, which, bottom line, is pretty harmless whichever way you slice it, yet show comparative disinterest in their own potential annihilation by mad Arabs.

    Probably because we
    a) Don't think they are any more or less mad than the rest of the world.
    b) Don't believe in their ability to annihilate us.

Now Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and could drop them on London in 45 mins. (Where is the very sarcastic smiley when you need one?)

    Solution to global problem:

Spike every countries' water supply with LSD, and everyone on the planet will live as one big, freaking happy family.

After enhancing the water, give everyone a hut, seeds and spade to create a nice vegetable garden, and an ounce of the best weed available.

Whoever doesn't want to work or whoever wants to cause trouble gets banished to the nearest desert without the weed.

Now if we can only get the United Nations to take this action and adopt these rules, we might finally get the people of the world to live in peace and harmony.
