LMAO @ all of you. Please, don't get all bent out of shape over contractions. I see both sides of the argument. School teaches you one thing to have the Proper English outlook. However, I was never too keen in English class. I don't give a crap how sentences are written and what parts they are. I just write what I feel. At most it sounds good to me, so I don't care.
As for the contractions, ALL of my characters used them. But when I went through and reread my story, I made one part of the family sound like they are rich but taking away their contractions they spoke. Whereas, the rest of the family are still heathens. LOL.
Thinking? For most of the characters, I leave the contractions in their thoughts so the reader knows it is them thinking and not me writing. Otherwise, I leave them out.
Once again thanks for all of your advice. It has all benefited me a great deal.
