Concept Artists

Hey there everybody!

I have a story I'm working on, but am in need of help in the illustration department.
How would I go about finding someone to help with this?

My advice? Don't. It's more fun and effective to make the reader visualize things in his head using words then it is using pictures.

Well, QwonockHybrid just said a story and for some illustrations are a good idea (childrens stories). The front cover is certainly not the artists business normally, but I've heard that other illustrations sometimes are.

Only start searching for an artist to illustrate your work once you've finished the writing and are sure you are willing to pay the high prices that the illustrators will demand. To find one you might post in a fantasy artist forum such as the one at Epilogue website asking for interested artists to send you links to their portfolios. Most artists will be very weary though, they'll want to be sure you will pay them. I'm not an expert on this field and I'm not sure you'll find many here. It's probably best if you post your question on another board (Epilogue or gfxartists or maybe even Elfwood).
