Instead of asking us this question, alternately, you should ask yourself. This is your story, not ours. Go with your gut feeling, or whatever will be easier for you to write about and will interest your readers.

When I start writing, I don't usually have the whole thing planned. Most of the time, I just wait and see what my characters tell me. (Jules knows what I'm talking about!) They always know best!
I'm not sure I feel comfortable making a decision like that for you. Even if you just wanted some advice, it's too hard to give out when I don't even know the characters....

I say SINK IN DISASTER (LIVE)!!!!!!!

It's obviously the best choice when you're just randomly guessing.

Let them die, but then don't end the story there. Make it so they journy to the distant shadow realm, ruled by a talking dog named Fluffy. Then they must figure out how to get back to life to prevent the evil Lord Oldymon from taking over some small insignifcant island made of coral in the Caribean. While trying to escape the shadow realm they uncover an insidious plot involving Fluffy. Can they stop Fluffy from taking control from the council of elders (which are talking cats) that otherwise keeps him in check? Will Lord Oldymon take over and opress the one person that lives on coral island (himself)? Find out in Cruise to the Shadow Realm!

edit: If you don't use it, I'll probably find a way to use it.
