I about have my first novel finished! Update, it's done! Need help on rear cover

It's been a monumental task and quite a feat for me, considering I'm dyslexic, suffer from adult deficit disorder, not to mention did poorly in english and suck at spelling. The first book,(soon to be printed,)of the trilogy, is a science fiction thriller called, "The Great Ship of Knowledge" (TM, registered trade mark)"Learning Earth's Deathly History" (C) 2008. Without a doubt, writing is the hardest thing I have ever done. If it weren't for spell-check along with the modern computer of today, this book wouldn't have ever came to fruition. For almost a year now, other than a few months during the middle of summer, I've been working non-stop on it, sometimes 20 hours a day, days and weeks on end. My wife Renee, has been a tremendous help proof reading and editing it, and my completed manuscript should be done the first week of December. I'm sure my wife had felt abandoned at times during this process even though I was only down the steps working away in my small office. I can't thank her enough for putting up with me over the last year, and I should also thank the slow real estate market and piss-poor economy in Michigan for giving me the free time to write! I plan to take my mauscript to Book Master in Cleveland Ohio for one last edit. I was going to also pay them for cover design and to print some books for me. I will market and ship them myself. My questions, are they reputable and am I doing the right thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you newwriterone

by "soon to be printed" do you mean that you have a deal for it to be published?

In any case congratulations.

I don't have a contract, I just intend to self publish, using Book Master.

I believe there are better options available. If you're interested, you can PM me and I'll share my thoughts.

Ask yourself why you want to self-publish. Ask why you want to pay someone else for all the hard work you put in instead of getting paid. Ask if you'd rather reach 10 readers or 100. Then go from there.

Give a link to the thread where this is being discussed and let's not have this discussion in each and every thread where even a hint of self-publishing is mentioned.

Thank you. Now he has quite a few links to in-depth discussion to help him decide and this thread can stay focused.
