Does anyone have thoughts on John O'Hara? My grandfather recently gave me a ton of books, and a collection of his short stories was among them, along with one of his novels.

They seem like typical old school New Yorker type stories. Some are quite short 2500 words or so.

I'm enjoying them anyway. May read one of his novels.

Speaking of my Grandfather, he got me interested in reading and has an awesome collection heavy on 20th century American. He's giving me the whole boatload. I won't even have a place to shelve them, there are so many.

It's so cool, I can't stand it.

Never heard of him, but based on that recommendation I'm going to check him out.
