Jim Butcher

Jim butcher is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera, and The Darkest Hours.

He is a ten-year student of martial arts, including Ryuku Kempo, Tae Kwon Do, Gojo Shorei Ryu, and a sprinkling of Kung FU. He is a skilled rider and has worked as a summer camp horse wrangler and preformed in front of large audiences in both drill riding and stunt riding exhibitions. He also enjoys fencing, singing, songwriting, and live-action gaming. He works as a computer support technician although he has held a variety of jobs in the past, from fast food management to door-to-door vacuum selling. Jim lives in Oklahoma with his wife and son and houseful of computers.

Whew.

Butcher's not bad, but he isn't great by any means. He still used a lot of really amateur stuff in his first few Dresden books at least. On the other hand, he has better ideas than his writing skill would indicate so he can be a lot of fun.

At his best he reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. At his worst, he reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (That series is pretty jumpy in quality).
