Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchet

Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchet, 2 sides of the same person? I find there books to be great but is there is a cirtain something that seperates there writing from other authors other than just brilliance?

I've never been a fan of Douglas, but I adore Pratchett! The man's a genius at making a story out of an obvious cliche! :] I know that his books are humorous, but I think also that they should be taken seriously. He's constucted a world on a disc on the backs of four elephants standing on the shell of a turtle... but he's made it ... believable. His earlier works such as the Truckers, Diggers, and Wings are equally as amazing. All of his books have character. And all his characters, soul. I mean, who else can make a character out of Death so lovable!!! ^_^
