Neil Gaiman
Lately I have been drowning myself with the works of the fantasy mastermind, Neil Gaiman. I must say from the first time I really looked at his work I was hooked. Some of my favorites of his are The Sandman, Neverhwere, and American Gods-- Though I have scarcely begun in that one.
My favorite bit of his writing would have to be his clever descriptions, especially in Neverwhere. I noticed he often described smells in key locations, but his crafty way of doings so always left me with a picture perfect sense of the place.
I would have to say, Neil Gaiman is my favorite author.
