Chieh Chieng stopped by my college during Writer's week to read a excerpt from his first novel, A Long Stay in a Distant Land. So recently, I decided to pick it up and I have to say it's a great smooth read.
Somehow he was able to balance subtle humor and the seriousness of the novel.
Only thing that bugged me was that every chapter, he would bounce back and forth in time, but I could see where he was going with it and it worked well.
Four stars for me.
