    Cool The Things They Carried

This is a short story---probably one of the best I've ever read. It was a starkly written, but beautifully crafted narration of the experience of soldiers in Vietnam. Anyone else read it? Or just talk about your favorite short stories..

I really felt for the lieutenant, carrying around that picture of the girl who doesn't love him.

One of my favorite books of all time actually. Love his writing style. Had no idea they were all short stories, but it makes a lot of sense now - I'd read 5 years ago. But I'm about to read it again for a class I have.

Why did you think it sucked? (Just curious.)

It was just so boring and the writing felt so...bland and cliche, I dunno, I just didn't like it one bit...
