    Abarat

Has anyone read Abarat by Clive Barker? Or the second one, Days of Magic, Nights of War? I enjoy these books. They remind me a lot about Phantom of the Opera and Wuthering Heights. What does everyone else think?

I'm a fan of Barker but I only got about halfway through Abarat. I'm not bothered, though, since it's not for my age group.

Too bad. It is for the teen age group, but still quite interesting. I haven't read Barker's other works, except for his Thief of Always, but I'll stand by Abarat anytime.

If you move on to his older stuff then I would recommend Sacrament which, I believe, is his best. Not gory, not too fantastic; just right, and has an okay theme.
