Glimmer Train Readers and Other Small Press Journals

Greetings.

I have just purchased a couple small press journals.

Glimmer Train, The Seattle Review, Ploughshares, and a couple others I am unable to recall their titles.

My question is this: Are there any other journals like these out there on the market? And, has anyone here, read some of these journals, or even published in these journals?

Timothy

Yes. They are a good selection of the better journals. Glimmer train pays v. well. You might want to check out Zoetrope and Absinth. They don't have good readerships, but they do look good on your query letter to publishers, especially if you win a prize.
Basically, they publish better stories than the soft porn that gets into women's magazines and the dribble that fills the charity magazines - but beware, they can be very pretentious and they like a certain style.
I'm not affiliated with any of the magazines, companies or organizations involved.

I second Wani. All good stuff. Ploughshare is good.

I've been rejected by Glimmertrain about... a billion times. I deserved every one. I suck.

Tin House is good, too. Never published anything I submitted. Fine hallmark of good journals.
