Journalistic History
I read alot of history books written in a jourbalistic style, it often makes them far more interesting to read than you average history book.
Two I recommend:
The Offshore Islanders: A History of the English People by Paul Johnson.
London: The Biography by Peter Ackroyd.
Does anyone else have any suggestions of history books which are written in this way? With an obvious love of the subject themselves.
