    Lee Smith

One of my favorite authors is Lee Smith. I did a search here and didn't see anything posted - apologies if I missed it.

Most of Smith's books are set in rural Southern Appalachia. Her stories are very much rich in character and place.
    I strongly recommend:

    Oral History
    Black Mountain Breakdown
    Saving Grace

I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Really? Oh, I'm so glad. It's a rare person who can get past the mountain stereotypes.
I do hope you enjoy it.
