I've taken a big interest in Arthurian Legends and there are plenty of books and novelizations on the subject. In your opinions, which books are the best to read?

At the moment, I'm reading Roger Lancelyn Green's "King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table". It's interesting in that it seems (according to the foreword) that the author tried to weave the isolate tales into a coherent whole. The language is pretty archaic, which gives it a very ancient feel, but sometimes slows the action, which, by the way, is not modern at all in iits depiction. The whole thing really reads like an old tale with rather succinct descriptions and an emphasis on character information (who's who relative and so on). Also, Christianity has a big place as Arthur's reign and role is clearly subordinated to the Christian God.
I haven't finished the whole thing, but so far I'd recommend it as a well-written and quite complete and coherent retelling of the myth, but so far I liked Marion Zimmer Bradley's vision better.
I had actually heard a lot about Zimmer Bradley's take on it, and they sound interesting. Thank you addix.
