I don't get hooked on many series type books, but Tim Dorsey has put out a great character in Serge Storms. All the books are set in Florida, which for anyone who lives here or has spent any significant time here, these may seem like a documentary. Yes, this State is weird. Anyway, they're a really interesting look into Florida history, the underbelly of society, and some really inventive ways of offing people who really deserve it.

Florida Roadkill is the first book in publication order, but Triggerfish Twist is actually chronologically first.
