Heartless

Tonight, i lost my whole heart to someone
someone who thought at first age didn’t matter
but now thinks so differently.

Tonight, someone broke my heart in two
and buried it in the soil.
And now there’s a hole in my chest where my heart should be.

Tonight, that someone might be swept away
by another person who is older than myself.
and quite possibly older than his daughters.

Is it wrong if I keep asking you if you’re ok?
Is it wrong if I cry when you don’t answer?
Is it wrong if I feel hurt that you reply to no one but some?
Is it wrong if I am madly in love with you?
Is it wrong if I feel like I’m the last person to know about you now?
Is it wrong if I love you and hate you at the same time?
Why does it seem like I’m an idiot?

Spicy Infection

I’m in pain with my wisdom teeth.
I hate my wisdom teeth.
Giving me pain in my ears.
I figure that’s gotta
be ear infections.

So I get to the kitchen
look in the fridge
and look at a jar of pepperoncini
and get it out.

I open the jar and get a fork
out of the drawer
and get me a pepper.
I eat and I eat
and my mouth isn’t hot.

So I take the jar
with me

Lucy Dies Tonight

Lucy was just a kitten
when my mom and I took her in.
She once fitted on the palm of my hand.
I was 6 or 7 years old
I loved her as my little sister.
But tonight I lost her.
She died in my mother's lap
for she couldn't breathe.
She was ill for a few days
but today I'm sorry to say is her last.
While in 1st grade, she had her first litter
I was so excited
but then I was sent to school
