Raging_Hopeful

This is the first time I've noticed the "Blog" part of this site. So I figure "why not?" Not that I'll promise to keep up on it. I have three other blogs I barely keep up on so why should this be any different?

In Writing News:
* I recently "finished" by first draft of a novel which I am tentatively calling "Fallen Feathers" even though I hate the name. It's better than calling it "Chicken Apocalypse" which is what I was calling it in casual reference. Of course, now having finished the draft I realize there is a LOT more I need to add. Oy.

* I picked up work on a VERY old manuscript that I have rewritten half-way on three different ocassions. I reached 30,000+ words in each attempt. I found one attempt that sounded decent upon review so I am continuing it in an attempt to finally, FINALLY finish it and lay it to rest.

* It's been a long while since I've written any short stories and I feel as though I've forgotten how. I feel sorely out of practice but completed a writing exercise last night and made two sorta-starts on two short stories. We'll have to see what comes of it, if anything.

In Life News:
* I am currently on an "Around the United States" trip with my new wife, travel trailer, and Great Dane cross. We're currently holed up in a nice little town called Rib Lake in Wisconsin.

* I have decided to go back to school to pursue a M.F.A in Creative Writing, with hopes of becoming a Prof at some point in the future. Yes, excellent job prospects there I know. But doing anything other than writing and doing my own thing seems to make me miserable. Not a fan of being miserable as it so happens.

Yep, I'm bored. So I'll stop here. Possibly never to return.
