They say good soap is no replacement for good character, and I see great character in you. You're family is rich with the brightness of your presence. There is a certain discontented-ness that will drive someone to fight on and struggle on and eventually correct the errors they see around them. I believe you are experiencing that discontented-ness. I also believe one day you will correct the errors you see around you. Maybe your writing will be the means by which you achieve this, maybe it will be something else you do. Whatever the case may be: never give up hope.

I love how you write about things, you describe situations so well. one day you will be famous. I love how as different as societies are, they are so the same. Gossip unites women of a certain age all over the world, its like gossip is their main function (and like your ladies, they will be outraged if you brand them a gossip!!). when i was quite young an asian family moved in next to my grandparents. they thought it was the end oif the world (this was england in the 70s, racism was considered to be quite acceptable). when i went to visit a few months after my nan and the asian lady were gossiping over the fence while they hung out their washing like they were bestest friends. Grandad and the asian husband would often stand at the opposite end of the garden, each on their own side of the fence, in comp[late silence, puffing in their pipes and looking at the wives as if to say "hah! gossiping again!"

I noticed the architecture ones at Barnes & Noble a few weeks ago. I think I will get one of the small kits for my architect friend for Christmas this year. Incidentally, I looked it up and Lego Group is a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. So much for getting in on the action there.

Hilarious title and a funny dialogue with your mother. I love the mental image of 'a bowl of jolly ranchers and condoms'--it's great satire. You made a good connection there, that's good writing waiting to happen. I can tell you're a day dreamer like any good writer should be.
