How'm I Supposed To Keep All This In My Head?

I've been writing creatively for . . . oh, I don't know . . . like a year or a year and a half.

I'm amazed at how much I've learned about writing--and how much I have yet to learn.

I subscribe to Poets & Writers and The Writer. I've read Stephen King's On Writing as well as The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing and quite a few other books on the creative writing process. I've gleaned dozens of tips from various websites. Some of the tips and tricks that I've picked up I've managed to internalize. Like avoiding passive voice and avoiding adverbs, for instance. But many of the things that I've learned I've forgotten and had to stumble across a second or third time.

I'm reminded of this T-Shirt I once saw. It read:

I may have Alzheimer's, but at least I don't have Alzheimer's.

Ahem. Anyway, I recently said to myself . . . . "Self," I said: "If only there was a central place where I could jot these thoughts down as I find them; so that I can not forget them for a change. Hmm."

Right now you're probably saying:

"For crying out loud, Einstein. Just start a damn blog, already!"

Great idea. So here we are. This blog is for me but hopefully someone out there in the Intertubz will find something useful as well. if you have any constructive input, please feel free to comment.

If you feel the need to comment but can't be constructive . . . then at least try to be amusing.
