The shield and helm but underwhelm
The power of my blow
They bend and break beside the lake
Around the fallen foe

The foe who fought but who had not
The power to survive
For every foe who fought me so
Is not today alive

From South to North I've traveled forth
And every place I came
I left so that each bird and bat
Heard rumour of my name

The greatest beast from out the East
I hunted through the snow
The beast so tall but who withal
Succumbed unto my blow

In my attack I struck its back
And shattered every bone
And when it died I skinned its hide
Atop the steppes alone

And to this day I walk and prey
On those who think they're strong
The greatest pleasure that I keep
Is teaching them they're wrong

This strikes me like one of those poems that appear in fantasy novels. I love this kind of imagery. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks, Lady S. This one's from the highschool days, and one of my faves.

Ahahaha! i do love it. liek false short of my mirth.
It well suits to read this piece with your Avatar as well.
If you ever do write a fantasy piece, this should be in it as well. As if he sings to himself, or as a prologue signed with the characters name or sum .
