....ehhh, I just like blogging. In a way, these may be useful for a longer, non-fiction work in the future - who knows? No one wants to hear 'ramblings' in an actual book anymore; hence the blog. Saves my thoughts, if nothing else. This thought pretty much sums up how I feel about my life at the moment - hopefully I'll get 'back into the driver's seat' again soon. :/
Not too long ago, while making a road trip, things happened that were rather "inconvenient", especially since I can be a nervous driver at times (depends on the bipolar, lol). I encountered a car on fire and got to watch it explode; got to watch a large section of boulder fall from a cliff near the Tennessee border (not into the actual highway, but pretty darned close!); drove through a violent storm; and then, about 6-8 blocks away from my destination, got detoured by a roadblock into a neighborhood with which I was unfamiliar.
Oddly, the last part was the one that shook me the most, for I am a Time freak and was worried about missing my personal deadline. It was 5:00 traffic on a Friday, and cars were snaked for blocks trying to get back to the main road on the other side of the roadblock. Everyone except Me knew where he/she was going, of course, and I was forced to follow and hope for the best. Things were almost at a standstill for awhile, and every now and then, when we passed a road back to the left, I would Turn, thinking surely this would lead back to the main boulevard and that everyone else was going "somewhere else".
Of course, because the area consisted mainly of apartment complexes, I would end up in a cul-de-sac and simply have to go back to my original detour route.
Cul-de-sacs are Nice in that you can turn with relative ease and go back to where you were. No invading others' driveways, no backing and turning...but you still end up right back where you were.
It's kind of like saying, "hey - I'm a Professional at going nowhere. So let's make it Convenient".
